Abstract

A study has been made to determine the physical parameters (temperature, dissolved oxygen, pH and total suspended solids), biochemical oxygen demand, chemical oxygen demand and nutrients (ammonia, silicate, total dissolved silicate and total particulate silicate) at eight sampling stations located along the 40 km stretch of Besut River basin. The study involved two sampling trips during pre-monsoon period (August and October) and one trip during monsoon condition (November). Results obtained indicated that most measured parameters exhibited variation with season as well as sampling locations.
