Checking the integrity constraints in databases is a fundamental problem in database design. In this paper, a model called Assertion Model for Integrity Constraints (AMIC) is proposed to ease the process of detecting the integrity constraints in an object-oriented database system. The model accepts user-defined constraints, and has efficient techniques that permit checking both the constraints in one class and the constraints between classes. AMIC proposes a method to gather the constraints and identifies the relationships among them. Also a new method is added to check the status of violation of the relations in object-oriented databases | Item Type: | Conference or Workshop Item (Paper) |
