The effective management of information as a corporate resource has become an important determining factor to ensure an organisation’s sustainability and competitive advantage in today’s competitive business environment. Identifying, understanding and assessing the current information status and value have become significant activities of an organisation. It is highly important for an organisation to establish a systematic and organised technique to understand and manage its information resources. The information audit provides the mechanism to discover, monitor and evaluate an organisation’s information status in order to implement, maintain or improve the organisation’s information management. This paper will discuss and analyse the current information audit methodologies and frameworks. This paper will conclude by summarising the evaluation findings.
