Abstract

The history, composition, properties and types of composite resins were reviewed. Clinical restorative techniques using composite resins as the filling material are different from those using amalgam. Specific cavity preparation designs, filling techniques, and finishing and polishing procedures are reviewed and discussed. Composite resins should be used with full awareness of their advantages as well as their short-comings and limitations.
