Jabatan Pendidikan Jasmani dan Sukan AbstractPhysical education and sports are the important agenda in integrating the various races in Malaysia. The Department of Physical Education and Sports, Ministry of Education plays an important role toward sports excellence. All sports programmes must be constantly supervised and evaluated. This study evaluates physical education and sports programmes undertaken by teachers and sport managers. This study sample consists of 13 teachers trainees with a different specialization from a cohort of 20 KPLI PE trainees. Data were collected from three sources, viz. semi structured interviews, observation and document analysis. Evidences from study showed that lecturers were putting too much emphasis on delivering content knowledge to the KPLI trainees and this had resulted in trainees lacking confidence and skills in teaching the subject during teaching practice. | Item Type: | Journal |
