Abstract

This paper presents the simulation of temperature profiles of a thick thermoset composite during its curing process. The process is modelled by a one-dimensional model of heat transfer and solved using a finite difference numerical scheme. The physical and thermal properties of materials used by D.C. Blest et al. are employed. The temperature is calculated through a judicious formulation and application of the Alternating Group Explicit (AGE) iterative method developed by Evans and Sahimi. A fourth-order Runge-Kutta method is applied for the cure.
