Dept. of Phyics AbstractA simple technique for determining thermal diffusivity (α) of Bi-based superconductor at room temperature is presented. The technique is applicable to any flash apparatus using a setup similar to the one presented by Parker et al. A data analysis technique (iterative method), which does not need any knowledge of either the initial or maximum sample temperature was employed in this study. In this study, we investigated on the role of Samarium (Sm) doping in causing differences in the thermal diffusivity of Bi-based superconductor. It is found that the thermal diffusivity decreases from 7.93 × 10⁻³ cm²/s to 5.87 × 10⁻³ cm²/s with the increase of Sm. Repository Staff Only: item control page
