Abstract

Inovasi dalam bidang pendidikan membolehkan ilmu disebar secara meluas dan dapat dikecapi oleh setiap insan yang dahaga kepada ilmu pengetahuan. Pendidikan jarak jauh merupakan corak pendidikan masa kini yang mana pelajar memperoleh ilmu secara on-line, berinteraksi bersama tenaga pengajar; rakan-rakan pelajar dan paling penting boleh memasuki perpustakaan digital untuk menerokai ilmu. Teknologi multimedia ini membolehkan ilmu pengetahuan sampai kepada pelajar ke seluruh lokasi dengan mudah yang mana melalui keselesaan ruang dan masa pelajar dapat merealisasi pembelajaran sepanjang hayat. Oleh itu, institusi pengajian tinggi seharusnya memainkan peranan penting dalam menggerakkan inovasi pendidikan jarak jauh demi perubahan trend pendidikan masa kini.
