This article discusses challenges of teacher as a profession in the era of k-economy. In relation to major economic planning based on knowledge, teacher's role in leading new changes are significantly important to the teaching profession. Further more, various development and new knowledge that affect economic changed, teaching profession, and the society will be discussed in the perspective of education and teaching profession. Issues that are related to the knowledge of professional teachers will be discussed critically in the context of the era of knowledge exploit on, forming of k-society, development of new knowledge, and e-learning. New claims, much as effect of globalization, innovation in teaching, and global knowledge are among important trends to the development of teaching profession.
