The 21st century offers various sophisticated technologies that enable educational programs to be more dynamic and interactive. However, the effectiveness of these technologies requires in-depth study and detailed planning. This paper argues that any planning must be based on a clear concept of teaching and learning parallel to our educational goal. To show which concept is suitable, several concepts and theories on learning and teaching have been explored. It was discovered that the concept of learning and teaching arising from phenomenographic research appears to be an alternative to other existing ones. In fact, it is suitable to be adopted in this century. This paper discusses the above concept and illustrates how it could be applied in the classroom.
