Abstract

Salah satu objektif kurikulum Pendidikan Jasmani Sekolah Menengah adalah untuk meningkatkan tahap kecergasan fizikal yang berlandaskan kesihatan seperti daya tahan kardiovaskular, kekuatan dan daya tahan otot, fleksibiliti dan peratus lemak. Tetapi kajian menunjukkan komponen- komponen ini tidaklah pada tahap yang memuaskan bagi pelajar-pelajar Sekolah Menengab. Ini disebabkan oleb beberapa faktor semasa implementasi kurikulum Pendidikan Jasmani di Sekolah. Tujuan artikel ini adalah untuk menerangkan apakah kecergasan fizikal aspek kesihatan, komponen-komponennya, faedah kecergasan fizikal serta kandungan kurikulum dan masalah implementasinya.
