Abstract

This article presents the findings of a study on the process of beginning teachers' socialization in primary schools. In-depths interviews, observation and document analysis were employed to gather data from six beginning teachers. This study found that beginning teachers‘ perspectives toward the headmaster, teachers and pupils have developed through the process of social interactions. Beginning teachers relied on their peer group to help them navigate the school system. Supportive headmasters and working environment also influenced the process of beginning teachers‘ socialization.
