Abstract

This article discusses findings of a study on children books in Malaysia that were published between 1995 and 2005. Some 615 books both in Malay and English were used as sample of the study and 31 respondents evaluated the quality of the children's books. Eight aspects were used as main criteria to determine the quality of children's books. The study found that the quality of books published in Malaysia mostly were of less satisfactory level. The study suggests that children‘s book writers and publishers should collaborate in producing quality books in the future.
