Abstract

Penglibatan guru dalam proses membuat keputusan merupakan satu elemen penting dalam menentukan kejayaan sesebuah sekolah. Kajian ini menilai sejauh manakah guru-guru terlibat dalam proses membuat keputusan di sekolah. Instrumen yang digubal oleh Savery (1992) diubahsuai untuk kajian ini. Penglibatan guru dalam proses membuat keputusan merangkumi sembilan aspek iaitu dalam dasar sekolah; disiplin pelajar; angkubah ekonomi; beban pengajaran; dasar umum; penglibatan ibu bapa; peruntukan masa; domain pengajaran; dan, domain pengurusan. Empat jenis respons subjek terdiri daripada: keputusan dibuat hanya oleh pengetua; perundingan dengan guru tetapi keputusan dilakukan oleh pengetua; keputusan ditetapkan oleh pengetua bersama guru; dan, keputusan dilakukan hanya oleh guru. Kajian menunjukkan bahawa disiplin pelajar, peruntukan masa dan domain pengajaran merupakan tiga aspek yang dianggap amat memerlukan penglibatan guru dalam proses membuat keputusan.
