This study assessed the collaborative practices in decision-making processes among teachers in secondary schools. A survey questionnaire was distributed to 110 teachers in six different secondary schools in Kuala Lumpur. The questionnaire consisted of 50 items, and the survey data were then computerized and analyzed using SPSS version 13. The analytical procedures used in this study included descriptive analysis, reliability test, one-way ANOVA and chi-square. The major findings show that collaborative decision-making does exist in the schools but at a very minimum level. The highest involvement of teachers in the process only happens during co-curricular activities and when dealing with cleanliness or decoration of the school compound. The findings suggest that teachers prefer democratic principals to motivate them. In addition, the research results reveal a significant correlation between teachers‘ attitude and their involvement in decision-making processes. However, age and experience were not significant predictors of teacher involvement in collaborative decision-making in the schools.
