Abstract

The main aim of this study is to identify the extent of collaboration in the implementation of staff development programs, to assess the foundation and to identify the effectiveness of the collaboration among teachers in two technical schools in Perak. The data were collected by administering a survey questionnaire to the respondents comprising 104 teachers. The data were analyzed using the SPSS program version 12.0 which used descriptive statistics, namely frequency distribution, percentage and mean. The findings showed that the secondary technical school teachers implemented collaboration, but it is still not very clear in the teaching and learning activities. The basic foundation for collaboration in the two sample schools was the teachers’ acceptance and readiness; however it was limited by the non-transparency of the program planning. On the other hand, the level of effectiveness of such collaboration was clearly high.
