Abstract

This paper describes the design and implementation of a simple task scheduler for real time data logging. The main purpose of the task scheduler is to control the processing of user programs and provide additional facilities designed to suit particular areas of application. The task scheduler determines the next program to be run when the previous one has been completed or suspended. Tasks which need to be executed in real time are placed in the real time queue and those with non real time constraints are placed in the linked list queue. Supportive routines for activating and suspending the various tasks are included.
