Abstract

A functional interpretation of Horn clauses is used as a formalism to incorporate uncertainty in Prolog-like logic programming languages. This formalism, when used with a probabilistic or possibilistic fuzzy model, enables the documentation of alternative beliefs. Fuzziness in clausal logic also brings various other benefits like the modelling of memory-probing and the treatment of incompelete knowledge.
