Abstract

Hadith which stands for what was transmitted on the authority of the Prophet, his deeds, sayings, tacit approval, or description of his !ifiit (features) is the second source of Islam. It was compiled by muhaddirhin according ta a standard procedure of compilation which includes determining a certain condition for a narallor 10 be fullfilled. It is made 10 avoid false /radith or spurious /radi!h. A discussion about spuriousnes and genuineness ofa/radith in Islamic tradition is being focused by mu/raddithin which developed a highly complex science of iSltad criticisme. AI- 'Adalah which means that a narra/or should be a muslim, intelligent, matuie, avoid great sin and cease involving in venial sin and preserve the ideal of manhood is one of that condition. Therefore, this article tries to analyse the significance of al- 'adalah in establishing a good 'ummah' which think critically.
