AffiliationsWellcome Institute for the History of Medicine (London) AbstractThe Wellcome Institute for the History of Medicine had its beginnings at the end of the las century when the American born pharmacist Sir Henry Wellcome came to Britain in 880 and formed a partnership with another American Silas Burrough and formed the world famous pharmaceutical company Burroughs Wellcome. The library held over 700 Arabic manuscripts and about 200 printed books . One of the library's great treasure is the horoscope of Prince Iskandar copied and illuminated in 813 A.H. 410 A.D.
