Abstract

Modes of writing may be either argumentative or expository. In an argumentative work, the writer needs to show consistency of viewpoint. In an expository work; the writer must show the ability to present his or her view of the subject discussed. This article explores the use of grammatical and lexical cohesion in argumentative and expository writing.
