Abstract

ABSTRAK: Kajian ini bertujuan untuk membekalkan pengetahuan secara konstruktif dan komprehensif tentang pincang laku kepimpinan pengetua dan kesan distruktif pincang laku tersebut kepada guru dari segi emosi dan fizikal dalam jangka masa pendek dan panjang menurut pandangan dan pengalaman guru. Sehubungan itu pendekatan interaksi simbolik digunakan bagi mengkaji 10 orang guru yang dipercayai menjadi mangsa pincang laku kepimpinan pengetua di salah sebuah sekolah yang telah dikenal pasti. Dapatan kajian telah merumuskan huraian guru tentang tindakan yang dipersepsi sebagai pincang laku kepimpinan pengetua seterusnya kesan pincang laku terhadap prestasi mereka di dalam bilik darjah. Implikasi kajian kepada bakal pentadbir dan implikasi terhadap kajian lanjutan turut dibincangkan.

ABSTRACT : The aim of this study is to provide knowledge constructively and comprehensively of teacher perspectives of principals’ leadership misbehavior (mistreatment) and its destructive effects emotionally and physically on teachers. Symbolic interaction approach was used to study 10 teachers who believed they were subjected to short and long term mistreatment from their school principal. The results briefly discuss the perception of principals’ leadership misbehavior from the perspective of teachers and its effects on teachers’ performance in classroom. Implication of the study for future administrators and further research is discussed.
