Faculty of Education AbstractABSTRAK: Kajian ini menyelidik kepimpinan dan pengurusan strategik di institusi-institusi pendidikan MARA iaitu Kolej Profesional MARA/Kolej MARA, Institut Kemahiran MARA dan Maktab Rendah Sains MARA. Data diperoleh melalui soal selidik yang dijawab oleh 425 orang ahli pengurusan serta temu bual ke atas 15 orang responden. Dapatan menunjukkan tahap kepimpinan dan pengurusan strategik adalah tinggi. Ujian MANOVA menunjukkan terdapat perbezaan kepimpinan antara IKM dengan MRSM. Terdapat kesan interaksi antara jantina dengan aliran pendidikan yang menunjukkan kepimpinan pentadbir lelaki dari aliran sains lebih baik daripada kepimpinan pentadbir lelaki dan perempuan aliran sastera. Ujian korelasi Pearson juga menunjukkan wujudnya hubungan yang signifikan bagi domain kepimpinan dan pengurusan strategik. Analisis regresi berganda mendapati bahawa semua domain kepimpinan memberi sumbangan ke atas pengurusan dan domain pengurusan strategik juga memberi sumbangan ke atas kepimpinan. Dapatan kajian ini telah menghasilkan implikasi praktikal untuk meningkatkan kualiti pendidikan di institusi pendidikan MARA. Gandingan sektor pendidikan MARA dengan sektor usahawan MARA adalah perlu agar penumpuan kepada melahirkan graduan dan tenaga mahir berpengetahuan (k-pekerja) berdaya saing dan berorientasikan keusahawanan dapat dicapai.
ABSTRACT : The purpose of this study is to examine the leadership and strategic management at various MARA educational institutions, namely MARA Professional Colleges (KPM)/MARA Colleges (KM), MARA Vocational Institution (IKM) and MARA Junior Science Colleges (MRSM). Data was obtained through a survey questionnaire on 425 management personnels and interviews on 15 respondents. Generally the leadership and strategic management level are high. MANOVA analysis shows significant differences in leadership between IKM and MRSM. There has been an interactive effects based on gender and education stream which showed that males from science stream are better leaders than males and females from art stream. Pearson correlation shows significant relationship between leadership and strategic management domains. Multiple regression analysis shows that leadership domains contribute towards strategic management and vice versa. Results of the study have provided practical implications for improvement of qualities in MARA education sector. The collaboration of MARA education sector and entrepreneur sector is crucial in order tto produce graduates and knowledge workers who are competitive with entrepreneurship orientation. | Item Type: | Journal |
