These two subsystems is embedded in E-Padi portal that is the collaboration qorek with Mardi. The knowledge engineering methodology is used in the system development where the information and knowledge on paddy diseases and pests are acquired from group of experts in Mardi. The e-paddy system contains five modules and two modules providing disease diagnosis and pest control are discussed in detail. At this initial stage, a proto-type providing the diagosis and advisory system and which covers 21 possible diseases and several pest types is provided. The expert knowledge is gathered and represented in the form of production rules and frames.
