N2  - Jurnal Filologi Melayu, launched in 1992 as a scholarly journal by the National Library is now in its 10th year of publication. The objective of this paper is to evaluate the success of this journal. This involves looking at its ciculations, distribution and visibility in academia. Secondly, the paper presents an analysis of the journal focusing on contributors, main subject areas covered and language of publication. Also included is author and subject index for the period 1992 to 2002. It is hoped that this analysis will help to chart the future direction of academia as a viable journal that promotes Malaysian scholarship in Malay philology.
