The present study demonstrated mass spectrometric characterization of hCG. The feasibility of tryptic peptides of hCG as marker were investigated. The fingerprints of peptides which reveal in their amino acid sequences were obtained to provide an unequivocal identification and confirmation of hCG. It is through this technique that 63% and 91% respectively of the amino acid sequence of alpha- and beta-subunit of hCG were determined.</mods:abstract><mods:classification authority="lcc">Q Science, Computer Science</mods:classification><mods:classification authority="lcc">R Medicine, Dentistry, Pharmacy, Nursing</mods:classification><mods:originInfo><mods:dateIssued encoding="iso8061">2005</mods:dateIssued></mods:originInfo><mods:originInfo><mods:publisher>Malaysian Society for Biochemistry and Molecular Biology</mods:publisher></mods:originInfo><mods:genre>Journal</mods:genre></mets:xmlData></mets:mdWrap></mets:dmdSec><mets:amdSec ID="TMD_oai:myais.fsktm.um.edu.my:2257"><mets:rightsMD ID="rights_oai:myais.fsktm.um.edu.my:2257_mods"><mets:mdWrap MDTYPE="mods"><mets:xmlData><mods:useAndReproduction>
