%X Media Unit of the Language Centre, University of Malaya was established in the 80's for the main purpose of providing assistance to the academic staff and students in producing audio visual materials for the teaching and learning of languages at the Language Centre. The set up of a library to store the audio and video materials became pertinent and consequently, an audio/video tape library was established. There are more than 1,500 audio and video tapes available in this library. The bibliographic records of the audio/vedio tapes will soon be computerized in accordance with the online cataloguing system of the Main University of Malaya Library.
