Razali AgusauthorThe articles introduces the Southeast Asian programmes available at Cornell University and the resultant special collection of Southeast Asian materials named the Echols Collection. Acqusition of material is through an office of the Library of Congress stationed in Jakarta as well as direct purchasing from vendors. Problems in the acquisition of materials are dscussed. Comparison is made of the size of the collection of Malaysiana materials as compared with collections of materials from other Southeast Asian countries. It is suggested that the gift and exchange scheme be initiaed to strengthened and enrch both the Echols Collection as well as similar collections in libraries of local institutions.Z Bibliography.
